FAQs

Just some FAQs we have been asked in the past which might help you in your thought process of choosing the right wood burning pizza oven

Oven Curing

Before you start cooking you must cure your Etna Oven. Curing is important to prevent your oven from cracking; it needs to become accustomed to the high temperatures for cooking.

How to cure my Etna in 2 easy steps:

  • You need to light multiple small fires around the inside of your oven and gradually build the heat up to 200 degrees celsius then leave the fire to put itself out. Do not add any more wood to this fire once it has reached 200 degrees celsius. This step is crucial keep the fires small with kindling and paper. Very slowly build the fires up with a slightly larger piece of wood.
  • Repeat this process 4 times to make sure the oven is properly cured. You can view the progress, as the inside of the oven will change to a lighter colour.

Congratulations your oven is now ready to cook!
